Our Story

A sunny corner of Carytown, by way of the farmers market

Persimmon started as a market stall at the South of the James lot. Two line cooks, one griddle, and a stubborn belief that brunch should feel like the best part of someone's week — unhurried, generous, and bright. In 2024 we found our corner on West Cary, painted it the color of a ripe persimmon, and never looked back.

  • Local first. Eggs, pork and produce from Virginia farms we can drive to. We name them on the board.
  • Wood-fired bread. Our sourdough is baked in-house each morning — the smell hits you at the door.
  • Patio for everyone. Dogs, strollers, and long Sunday conversations all welcome.
